FedEx Announces Official Retirement Date for Ship Manager API

Last Updated on May 30, 2019 by Numinix Developer

I’ve got good and bad news.  We told you before that FedEx is planning to retire their Ship Manager API (Direct Connect) and require all customers to migrate to the new Web Services API.  Now they have said that date will be on June 1, 2011.  If you do not upgrade your module to the new Web Services API, you will no longer be able to return rates from FedEx.  That’s the bad news.

The good news is that shortly after publicly releasing our FedEx Smart Post module using the new Web Services API, we have now completed and just released the FedEx Web Services Shipping module which includes FedEx Ground and FedEx Express rate quotes.  The module features the ability to select which shipping services you’d like to quote to customers,  various drop off/pickup types, tax classes, handling fees, and shipping zones.  The first release is compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.9 and should be backwards compatible to at least Zen Cart 1.3.7.

If you need help with the installation of this module, we can install it for you for a flat $25 USD.  Just select the installation service from the product’s page and we’ll have it installed properly, guaranteed, within 48 hours.

We hope you enjoy this release and that it helps to improve your Zen Cart store!
