5 features you didn’t know you had on your Facebook Page

Last Updated on May 27, 2015 by Luiza Libardi

Since Facebook Business Pages was launched in 2009, the product has been constantly changing and evolving. In addition to analytics, reports and advertising, there are some nice new features that can help you to give prominence to certain pieces of content and create user flows to direct users where you want them to go. Let’s go over five commonly underused features:

Facebook Call To Action Button

Facebook released this feature to help business owners bring the most important objective to the forefront of the page. The button can link to any destination on or off the social network. It is possible to select from a group of seven call to action buttons:

  • Book Now
  • Contact Us
  • Use App
  • Play Game
  • Shop Now
  • Watch Video

Facebook Tabs

You page tabs work like of the main menu of your Facebook Page. They are located right below your Facebook cover photo, and the full menu can be expanded by clicking on the ‘More’ link on the right. By default, the tabs are: About, Photos, Likes and Videos. You can add anything you want on your page by using Facebook Apps. Here are a few examples of commonly used tabs and how to add them:

Facebook Highlights

Highlighting stories lets you feature posts that are important for your business. The highlighted content will show on your Timeline with a star banner and will always appear on users’ timelines, whereas other posts can become hidden over time. To highlight a story, hover over the top right corner of the story you want to highlight, click on the down arrow and select “Highlight”.

Facebook Pin to Top

This feature does exactly as it says: it pins any selected story to the top of your Facebook Page. You can use this for flash sales, for example. When the sale is over, simply unpin the story.

Facebook Images

To create effective attention-grabbing content on Facebook, we recommend using images. Posts with images get 39% more engagement on average! By creating themed albums, you can keep people entertained on your profile while showing them your products and values. For example, you can create an album for each product or category of products, or even create a showcase of your work.
